What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. Some are needed for the site to work. Others help us measure our advertising and see how the site is used.
UK law (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations) lets us use strictly necessary cookies without asking you. For any other cookie, we must have your consent first.
Cookies we use
| Cookie | Type | Set by | What it does | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|---|---|
mk_session |
Strictly necessary | Meshsmith | Keeps you signed in to your account. Scripts on the page cannot read it (HttpOnly), and it is only sent over secure connections (Secure). | 30 days |
mk_oauth |
Strictly necessary | Meshsmith | Protects sign-in with GitHub, Google or X by checking that the sign-in response matches the request you started. Only set during that sign-in. | 10 minutes |
mk_consent |
Strictly necessary | Meshsmith | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected advertising and analytics cookies. | 180 days |
_gcl_au |
Advertising (consent only) | Google Ads | Records that you arrived from a Google ad, so we can see which ads lead to sign-ups and purchases. | 90 days |
_gcl_aw |
Advertising (consent only) | Google Ads | Stores the ad click ID when you arrive from a Google ad, to measure conversions. | 90 days |
_gcl_gb |
Advertising (consent only) | Google Ads | Stores the ad click ID when you arrive from a Google ad in some browsers and contexts, to measure conversions. | 90 days |
_ga |
Analytics (consent only) | Google Analytics | Tells one visitor apart from another, so we can count visits and see how the site is used. | 2 years |
_ga_* |
Analytics (consent only) | Google Analytics | Keeps track of your current visit for Google Analytics. | 2 years |
We do not set the advertising and analytics cookies unless you click Accept in the cookie banner. If you click Reject, or close the banner without choosing, they are not set.
Google may also use cookies on its own domains to measure ad conversions and, if you allow personalised advertising, to show you Meshsmith ads on other websites. Google controls those cookies. Google explains how it uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Measurement without cookies
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views and measure how fast pages load. It does not set cookies, does not fingerprint your device and does not track you across other websites.
How consent works on this site
- Before you make a choice, Google's tags run with all storage turned off. They do not read or write the advertising or analytics cookies above, and your visit is not used to personalise ads.
- If you click Accept, Google's tags may use advertising and analytics cookies, use your data for advertising measurement, and personalise ads.
- If you click Reject, everything stays turned off.
- You can also choose advertising and analytics separately under Manage choices.
- If you have accepted advertising cookies and then sign up or buy a plan, we send Google a hashed version of your email address to measure conversions. We do not do this if you have rejected advertising cookies.
- We remember your choice for 180 days. After that, we ask you again.
Changing your mind
Click Cookie settings in the footer of any page to change or withdraw your consent at any time. Once you withdraw consent, Google's tags stop reading or writing advertising and analytics cookies. You can remove cookies already on your device in your browser settings.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser. If you block mk_session, you will not be able to sign in.
